About Charleston Dental Associates
Charleston Dental Associates was founded in 1976 by Dr. Ernest N. Pennington. From the beginning, Dr. Pennington and our team have provided patients with the highest level of care. Over the years, we have treated patients in every phase of life — we serve patients age two years and above, families, and seniors. To ensure you and your loved one receive the best dental care we utilize the latest dental technology and equipment.

Our Doctors
Dr. Lindsey Young
Dr. Lindsey Young is from Clarksburg, WV and currently lives in Charleston, WV. She graduated from WVU in Dec 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. She graduated from WVU school of dentistry in 2018. She recently got married In July to her husband Matt and she has a stepdaughter, Kaylee. Dr. Young also has three dogs (Gryffin, Cujo, and Chloe).
In her spare time, she likes to go out on her boat, go to WVU football games, spend time with friends and family, watch her husband play travel softball, watch her daughter play T-ball and gymnastics.
Dr. Shawn Ballard
Dr. Ballard received his dental education from the WVU School of Dentistry and graduated in 2018. Outside the office, he enjoys golfing, spending time with his wife Morgan and dog Zaid. He is also the head Basketball Coach at Scott High School.

Office Manager
Davina graduated from Carver Center in 2005 as a dental assistant. Been with CDA since 2019. She enjoys spending time with her husband Rick and children Taylor and Luke.
Courtney Browning
Office Administrator
2010 graduate of Scott High School. I’ve been with my husband for 17 years and married 14 years. We have three wonderful kids, Taylor, Easton, Maycee, and three cats Wrigley, Chicago and Olive. I enjoy spending time with my family, going to concerts, taking a long vacation, and sleeping.
During the fall you can catch me cheering on the Lady Skyhawks basketball team, and Saturdays I’ll be cheering on the Volunteers and Mountaineers.

Chelsey Ullom
Registered Dental Hygienist
Chelsey Ullom graduated from dental hygiene school in 2017. Chelsey enjoys spending time with her husband Jordan and two daughters, Amelia and Delilah. She enjoys running and traveling to Disney World.
Hollie McClure
Registered Dental Hygienist
She attended Carver Career Center for Dental Assisting in 1999. She went on to WV University Institute of Technology and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She joined Charleston Dental Associates in March of 2021. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters watching WVU football, basketball, and volleyball. She enjoys traveling, hiking, & kayaking.
Sara Justice
Registered Dental Hygienist
Sara is a 2011 graduate of Bridgemont CTC. She is currently completing her bachelor’s degree and will graduate from West Liberty University in May 2022. She enjoys traveling and WVU sports when not treating patients in the office. She enjoys spending her free time with her daughter Mila and dog Bo.

Angel has been working as a dental assistant for 10 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband Martin and her two daughters Merissa and Taylor. When shes not working, she loves caring for her granddaughters Aubrey and Adalyn
Sherry Burns
Dental Assistant
Lifelong resident of Charleston. Her interests include her loving family, her strong faith and her dear friends. Her hobbies are gaming and spending time in her garden
Dedra Turner
Dental Assistant
Dedra has been working as a Dental Assistant for almost 20 years. She enjoys singing, spending time with her family and friends and she loves fishing in her spare time. She joined Charleston Dental Associates in May 2022
Autumn Thomas
Dental Assistant
Autumn is a graduate of Riverside High School. Autumn has three dogs, Colt, Oliver, and Murphy that she loves spending time with along with her family.
Brittany Suthard
Dental Assistant
Brittany graduated from Ross Medical Education Center. She has a passion for helping others. In her free time she loves spending time with family, friends, her 2 daughters Aubree and Nicole, and her boyfriend Danny.
